Homework Class

Student Service Learning instructors will assist elementary and middleshcool students with homework

Drawing Basics

Instructor : Morgan Ballard

Students : 3rd to 8th Grade

This course will involve whatever aesthetic needs the students bring to the classroom. I will try to give as much individual attention to each child as possible. If the child needs help with painting, so be it. Likewise with any other media where there is an interest. I would encourage each child to bring their own supplies for this class will be directed to their own personal fulfillment. If a child would be willing to use the limited supplies we have at the gallery, that would be fine as well.

Art Chairs

Adult Class instructed by Casey Mae Fleischer

To be auctioned at a silent auction
to benefit CSAGI after School Art.

Have you ever wondered what it is like to see people buy your artwork? In the Making Art Chairs class, we will choose a   painting by a famous artist, learn how to use the grid technique to reproduce a painting, and learn how to paint an art chair! After this class, you will know how to turn practical pieces of furniture into your very own artwork! Members of the community will then purchase your art chair at a silent auction to benefit the after school art programs at CSAGI.

This will be a 4 week program taught by volunteer Casey-Mae Fleischer, beginning in April. The class will be held every other Saturday morning, between 10 AM and 12 Noon.

Contact the gallery for more information and to register.

Life Drawing

Middle-school students - donations accepted.

First two classes will involve the exploration of line. The children will discover through application how many different kinds of lines can be used in a drawing.

All classes will involve a walk to University of Maryland park to apply the classroom skills in drawing.

Classes continue exploring line techniques, cross hatching, dotting, shading and color.

Class is conducted by Morgan Ballard
